About

The word Angam is derived from Anga, an ancient state that was important in the histories of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism in different eras. According to Buddhist texts from the 4th Century BC, Anga was among the 16 Mahajanpadas or great nations. As per the Mahabharata, Anga was ruled by Karna at the time, and therefore he held the title Angaraj. The city of Campa or Champa (modern day Bhagalpur) was the capital of Anga.

At Angam, we trace our roots back to the ancient Anga, and the venture is an attempt to carry forward that legacy, with a sense of belonging. As a fabric brand, we bring to you the age-old weaving traditions of the Anga region that now loosely covers the districts of Bhagalpur and Banka. While Bhagalpur is well-known for its rich textile tradition, Banka, a district carved out of Bhagalpur, is home to lush green jungles, ideal for the farming of silk cocoons.

Your search for pure and authentic fabrics from the Anga region (Bhagalpur, Banka) ends with us, as Angam provides unparalleled quality with unmatched prices. You can always rely upon Angam.
